Mail delivery and other issues!

We received mail as usual on Monday on last week.We had just 4" of snow on Tuesday of last week. By Monday of this week we still had not received any mail - an entire week, so I called the Leamington postal depot and was told that they were not planning a delivery for that day either but that I could come and collect the mail. We went there and waited 20 minutes for the mail to be brought down, and no - one there could have cared less. Our road is on a bus route and we live in a built up area. We just returned from 6 years in the USA. This country has really gone down the pan. The BA cabin crew were going to strike. They earn more than many co -pilots in the USA. I think they earn more than cabin crew for the other airlines in the UK. They wished everyone a 'happy christmas' when we deplaned,(the pilot had already done the same) yet the plane was full of Americans (many probably Jewish), British Muslims, etc etc. This is insular and insensitive and I'm not surprised that islamic kids become radicalized here. They do not feel part of the country. I always voted labour here and I am a democrat too (I'm also a US citizen). I will not be voting labour again. (less)

Basically, I am higher taxed person but my wife has a (low paid) part time job so she may look after our two young children. The current tax system does not reward, or enforce, influence the values of marriage and children. The current system means we would be better off separate... (more)
Basically, I am higher taxed person but my wife has a (low paid) part time job so she may look after our two young children. The current tax system does not reward, or enforce, influence the values of marriage and children. The current system means we would be better off separate and or bringing up our children outside of marriage. Not good for society I think. (less)

I would like to discuss with you the new payment procedures for claiming and payment of Nursery Education Funding. This is an initiative that was started by the conservatives during the 1990's. However since the present government's involvement it is now at risk of causing daycare closures, the very opposite of what was intended! (less)
